The development of technology in recent years has become an essential part of shaping the way how we, as humans, lead our lives. The effect of innovations, be it as complex as the usage of radio waves for transmission of data over large distances throughout the world, or, as simple as deploying the same radio waves to interconnect several devices via ‘Bluetooth’, has changed our mindset in a way that shows increasing reliance and dependency on technology. Though there is no doubt that technology improves our lives, however, the single largest factor that enables such technology to become a major part of our daily lives is as simple as the ability of devices to deploy different technologies while being interconnected at the same time. As simple an idea as it seems, present trends in innovative technology make it evident that there is a global shift from manually used devices to automatic or command-controlled devices in the last 5 years. This is made possible by developing a network of devices that deploy different technologies to perform tasks on their own or with minimal human intervention and is known as ‘Internet of Things’ (‘IoT’).
